Betterton, Maryland is a charming beach town located at the head of the Chesapeake Bay overlooking the confluence of the Sassafras, Elk, and Susquehanna Rivers. It is a great place for swimming, boating or just laying on the beach which makes it the perfect place for mermaids, even the ones with legs!

A great time to visit Betterton is on Betterton Appreciation Day, also known as Betterton Day. It is held the first Saturday of every August and is celebrated with all kinds of fun activities. (Click here for the full schedule of events for this year.)
This year's Betterton Day is Saturday, August 3rd. If you are going be sure to look for Kt of Kt's Kreations among the beach vendors. She will be selling her wonderful jewelry kreations and also handing out a few Betterton Mermaid door hangers to those who get there early enough.
